davao day 1 - fail?
we woke up at around 11. hungry much. so san kami pupunta? there are places that i have in mind, and on my list. to get to those places, naisip ko cabs are everywhere naman. our first stop - eden nature park. there are taxis just right outside the hotel. so we talked to manong driver how much if we will hire his taxi para dalin kami sa eden. i forgot the exact amount but i believe it's 1500-2000. that would be a little heavy sa bulsa, lalo na 2 lang kami. we also tried to avail the car rental services of hotel elena, almost the same range din e. so we decided to eat first and discuss things. we asked him to drop us at gaisano mall (jose p. laurel avenue), and had lunch at chowking (dumayo ng davao city para magchowking. haha). we grabbed a davao city map (and a pen), to have an idea how far the sites are. hmmm, since we really wanted to see eden nature park, we needed to know how to get there pero commute lang! ano pa nga ba, internet! many thanks to pexers - pinoyexchange.com. by the way, while at the mall we called eden to reserve. they have buffet lunch kasi. para manotify na din na late kami dadating.

so from gaisano mall, we hopped on a jeepney. too bad i forgot the sign board. basta dadaan marco polo hotel. when we reached marco polo, bumaba kami and walked. ang inet! pawis much. we need to ride a jeep, going to toril. those jeepneys are passing along university of mindanao. what we didn't know was, jeepneys bound for toril are available at claveria street, roxas avenue (where ateneo is located) and quimpo boulevard. so pagsakay namin, dumaan si jeep sa may ateneo. ateneo is almost across marco polo hotel. tsk! sayang ang pawis! jeepney fare is less than 20 pesos.
when we got to toril, we dropped off at mercury drug. from there, there are 'habal-habals' which can take you to eden. so si kuyang driver, we negotiated to take us there for P250, back and forth. but we just gave him P300. wawa naman e. he waited for hours anyway. it will take 20-30 minutes to eden from toril proper.
and yehey! at last, we reached eden nature park! around 2:00 in the afternoon. we paid P450 each for the buffet, and P100 pesos each for the shuttle with tour guide (group ito, may kasamang mga hindi kilala). so we had a sumptuous meal, tapos get ready na for the tour.

from eden, you can have a great view of the city. the place is thousands of feet above sea level. it's cold in here, you might wanna bring your jacket.

and because of this, hindi 'fail' ang day 1! adventure nga e! :) super commute, feeling taga davao. ;p
