davao city : dakbayan sa dabaw!

back track ito. we spent 3 days and 2 nights in davao - october 8-10, 2010. i'll try to remember things as detailed as possible. pero goodluck naman, makakalimutin ako e. hehehe... this was my very first travel. first plane experience! i was so scared, takot kasi ako sa heights. thanks to my bestfriend, chineer nya ko. hehe. at hindi ko makakalimutan ang super sakit kong tenga mga 30mins before magland sa davao.

bestie at davao airport. welcome to davao!

hmm, seems i won't be able to specify the exact and total expenses. but this was a diy (do it yourself) trip. we were composed of 5 pips. just a city tour, wala naman beach. if you'll go to davao for a beach experience, you should visit samal island. according to some reviews, pearl farm is great.

background
the city of davao (tagalog: lungsod ng dabaw; cebuano: dakbayan sa dabaw) is the largest citymindanao in the philippines. its international airport and seaports are among the busiest cargo hubs in the philippines.

davao city is also one of several cities in the philippines that are independent of any province. the city serves as the regional center for davao region (region xi). it has a population of 1,464,301 (2010 census), making it the country's second largest city, and is named by the foreign direct investment magazine as the 10th "asian city of the future". in recent years, davao city has emerged as the business, investment and tourism hub for the entire southern philippines. the city has good beaches and mountain resorts, and is close to diving spots and the highest peak in the philippines, mount apo. it is awarded by the department of tourism as the most livable city in the philippines in 2008. let us not forget that davao city is the home of the famous durian! when you are out on the streets, you can smell its, uhm... aroma. ;p

and yeah, davao is a smoke-free city. bawal magyosi lang basta!

how to get to davao city
sympre easiest yung by air. we booked at cebu pacific, 1 hour and 45 minutes ang travel time. may 999 na seatsale that time, our total fare - P4,652.48 (for me and bestie, so P2326.24 each, roundtrip). our plane left manila at pass 4 in the morning, and arrived at francisco bangoy international airport at 5:45am.

umpisa na!

finally  started creating blogs to document my lakwatsas. it really feels good to travel around the philippines. pinas palang yan. and i just got started! after our davao trip, sabi ko davao won't definitely be the last. i'm not gonna stop there. more to come!

and i find it really helpful, the travelers that document their trips. budget, itineraries, contacts, etc. most especially if the trip is a DIY (do it yourself). because i benefit so much from them, it's time for me to return the favor for future trippers.

this is me at coron, palawan

this is it! enjoy!
